games review
The hunger games is not a games for drunks where you try and eat
at much food as possible, oh no, it’s a series of books created by Suzanne
Collins that have recently been turned into a film. Want to know more? Carry on

The plot summary (Wikipedia):
The Hunger
Games takes place in a nation known as Panem, after the destruction of North
America by some unknown apocalyptic event. Panem consists of a wealthy Capitol
and twelve surrounding, poorer districts under the Capitol's hegemony.
District 12, where the book begins, is located in the coal-rich region
that was formerly Appalachia.[8]As punishment for a previous rebellion against the Capitol in which a 13th district was destroyed, one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 from each district are selected by annual lottery to participate in the Hunger Games. This is an event in which the participants (or "tributes") must fight in an outdoor arena controlled by the Capitol, until only one individual remains. The story is narrated by 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen, a girl from District 12 who volunteers for the 74th annual Hunger Games in place of her younger sister, Primrose. Also selected from District 12 is Peeta Mellark, a baker's son whom Katniss knows from school, and who once gave her bread when her family was starving.

Released on the 12th march 2012 the film was pretty
much an instant success, it was hyped for a long time and most of the fans weren’t
disappointed.
I personally really liked the film, the actors
in it were gorgeous and it was defiantly suspenseful.
As like most book to films it wasn’t quite up to the novels standards and did miss out several areas that if included would have been amazing however I understand some of the more ‘controverisal’ scenes were cute as well as the fact that the film was already ‘long enough’ and so extending this would have made it even longer (no drinks during this film or I would have needed to dash to the loo halfway through an crucial part)
But overall it was really good, I overheard someone’s conversation the when I was at the cinema that made me smile they said:

‘Are you team Peeta or team Gail?’
‘I don’t care, this isn’t twilight’
Sorry but I had to share this as it made me smile
