What's in my makeup bag

What’s in my Makeup bag (during the day)

Hola! So this blog is going to be a basic ‘what’s in my makeup bag’, many bloggers as well as you tubers do this style of blog/video and I personally quite enjoy seeing people’s statement makeup items (cause I’m nosyJ) However it’s not just a list of the makeup items in my makeup bag but a quick review on each and why I adore them. So enjoy!
Facts:
Product: Stay matte pressed powder
Brand: Rimmel
Approx Price: £5
Rating (out of 10): 7
My shade/colour: 003 peach glow

This is a product that I’ve used for numerous years now, in fact I think it may have been one of the first products that I started wearing, back in ye olden times. The description says that it gives ‘up to 5 hours natural shine control with natural miners. Helps minimise the appearance of pores’.
The product packaging is lightweight and slim so fits in my makeup bag nicely however I have found that the lids can become rather slack and so have a tendency to fall off after frequent use.
The product itself does appear to reduce shine noticeably (which is of an upmost importance to those of us that have naturally oily/shiny skin) and the texture is extremely soft and feels nice on the skin. The range of colours available is fairly wide and is particularly good for fairer skin (like mine bronzer all the way amigas) and they even do a translucent version.
The other downside to this product is that already it reduces shine for several hours (approx 3) it does then in my opinion (for skin like mine) need topping up/or use of blotting tissues in necessary, so not quite the 5 hour shine free skin advertised.

Side note: If any of you know of any pressed powders that do reduce shine for more than this time please comment/email me etc.

Facts:
Product: Falsies volume express mascara
Brand: Maybelline
Approx Price: £7 (but I believe it may have gone up)
Rating (out of 10): 8
My shade/colour: Blackest black

This has been my favourite mascara since I discovered it about a year ago after having used it’s relatives like colossal mascara. The packaging itself is a pretty purple with lace effects and the writing (for me anyway) doesn’t wear off quickly which is one of my pet hates when it comes to makeup products.
The brush itself is curved which is fabulous for volumizing as well as adding some length and thickness. My lashes are naturally very short (I’ll try and include a picture) so length is a necessity and I’ve not yet found another mascara that lengthens quite like falsies and I can tell you I’ve tried a fair few. My lashes become intensely volumezed and particularly with smoky eyes the effect is amazing.

However there are a few downside to this mascara, like many other mascaras that I’ve experienced the brush can become too loaded with product after repeated use however falsies is not alone in this fault as numerous mascaras also do this. Also it’s perhaps not the best mascara for defining lashes in terms of having many separate lashes, nevertheless I find this is easily solved by using another mascara wand with little/if any product to separate the lashes.
Facts:
Product: Lip balm
Brand: Cath Kidson
Approx Price: Not sure (bought in set)
Rating (out of 10): 10
My scent: Honeysuckle

Lip balm, a number one necessity, a general principle, in fact in my opinion is should be in our human rights (all prisoners, everyone should have one, not necessity Cath Kidston of course.)
I have an abundant supply of lip balms and I can’t contain myself as I still frequently buy more to add to my ever expanding collection. Lip balm is probably in my opinion the most valuable makeup (if you can call it that) item. For winter and summer lip balm is always used and my favourite currently is the Cath Kidston honeysuckle one that I received from my mum as part of a set for xmas. It’s super soft and smells absolutely amazing. The tube packaging with quick turn up action means that its easily accessible when you on the go (rather than turning open a pot with insanely cold hands.)
the only downside I have to this product is that the writing is quickly wearing off of the packaging, but that’s something I can deal with

Facts:
Product: Boi-ing concealer
Brand: Benefit
Approx Price: £14
Rating (out of 10): 8
My colour/shade: 01

This concealer is described on its packaging as an ‘industrial strength concealer’ and I can honestly say it truly deserves that title.
The packaging is slim and sleek, a screw on so the lid always stays on firmly. The product itself is very creamy and soft, it blends into your skin seamlessly. I have currently had my current boi-ing concealer for around 4 months and I’ve barely scratched the surface of it despite my frequent use. I originally discovered it after receiving it as part of a benefit set ‘confessions of a concealerholic (fabulous will do review for later’ and fell in love with it so decided to buy a full sized version.

Hides all of my blemishes really well and it’s something  I simply couldn’t live without.
But there are a few drawbacks, it’s quite pricey for a concealer however to say how long it lasts I’d say it’s worth it! The only other complaint that doesn’t affect me but might to others is that they don’t offer a wide range of colours (in fact I think there’s only three shades) and the two darker shades are quite a bit darker.

End note:

I have to admit that isn’t very many products however if I am wearing lipgloss/lipstick then I will take that particual one with me. I know some peple also take eyeliner/blusher/foundation/eyeshadow/eyebrow pencil however although of course I apply these in the morning I don’t bring them with me unless I know I’m going to be out all day long. Also especially when I’m going to college carrying round extra makeup as well as the moundatins of work would be a pain.

But I hope you have all enjoyed the reviews alongside some of my favourite products. As always if you have any blogs you think I’d like then message me/make a comment and again comment (please *puppy dog eyes*) to tell me what you think as well as any makeup products you believe I might be interested in.

Also if you have any suggestions for any other blog posts feel free to tell me.
