Naked Palette Review

Naked Palette Review

The holy grail of all eye shadow palette’s, the queen of the eye shadows, the bees knees, this palette is one of the most lusted over palette’s that certainly my generation has ever seen.
That sounds a bit over dramatic I know however I honestly believe the palette speaks for itself and no exaggeration is used when I talk about this palette as I simply adore my Gran for getting it for me for xmas.

Fact file:
Brand: Urban Decay
Price: £35 (In most parts of the UK however now that the Naked Palette 2 has been released the price at some places has dropped to around £29 but I’ll discuss this more in detail later)
Type of cosmetic: Eye shadow palette with a an eye shadow brush
Marks out of 10: 10/10 sounds extreme but I love it!

The outside I think looks fairly classy, its a plastic casing with the outside coated with a velvet type material. And obviously you can see the words ‘NAKED’ and ‘URBAN DECAY’ emblazed in sparkly gold, overall it looks quite professional. Also if you drop it don’t worry no breakages seem to occur (I’m clumsy and so this has happened several times but so far so good.

The inside packaging again looks very professional and has a small mirror which in itself is an extremely useful tool.

The colours are (left to right):
Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half baked, Smog, Dark horse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep and Gunmetal.

The colours as you can hopefully see (bad camera I do apoligize) range from a creamy white to a smoky grey. The reason behind my adoration of this amazing palette is the versatile nature of it. No matter whether you’re recovering from a night out (Sin is great for this), going to college (Naked’s my favourite) or going out at night (Creep and Gunmetal make a fabulous smoky eyes) the palette fits all occasions.

Furthermore the brush that comes along with the palette is really soft but strong as well (this sounds silly but some cheaper brushes are flimsy and don’t last long)

The eye shadows themselves are nice and not exactly creamy because obviously they’re powder based but they glide on nicely and a little of them appears to go a long way.

Some of the colours are pigmented with ‘sparkles’ as you can see however some of them like Naked are matte so look good in the day as well.

My favourites have to be Virgin, naked and Gunmetal for three very contrasting reasons, Virgin is fabulous for making me look more ‘bright eyed and bushy tailed’, Naked is good for when I’m at college as its subtle but looks spectacular with mascara and eyeliner. Finally gunmetal is my ultimate when it comes to going out as its sparkly nature makes me feel more glamorous whilst the grey/blue colour is good when I’m doing smoky eyes without being too heavily a black colour like many smoky style palette colours can.

The only disadvantage I find with the palette is that at its original price it is rather expensive. Obviously being at college means that I’m not ‘flush’ with cash so I can’t usually afford expensive makeup items (let this be a note for you for my future blog posts, I do a mix of cheaper makeup with more expensive ones.) I actually got this palette from my gorgeous Gran for xmas, bless her she bought herself one too (yeah my Gran’s a real fashionista she’s more glamorous than me most of the time
J)
But I’m not sure whether I’d buy it myself however if it does last for a long time (I’ll update you on this as I only got it this xmas) then I’d defiantly save up and buy it again.

Naked Palette 2

Yes typical isn’t it? Much like iPhone’s and Chanel’s fashion collection’s Urban Decay have brought out a new Naked Palette and named it ingeniously...the Naked Palette 2.
I myself haven’t bought one and to be honest I’m not planning on buying one, the colours in it are very similar to the original as you might expect. In my opinion if you don’t own either palette then do look extensively at both and which colours you think you’d use the most as they’re both gorgeous however if you already have one is it really worth buying the other when the colours are so similar?
But each to their own (expression meaning its different opinions not sure if you will all know it :D)

End note:
So that’s my review of the Naked palette by Urban Decay, hope you enjoyed it and that you found it useful. Please (with cherries on top) comment and do continue to read my blog. Also if you have a blog that you think I’d like leave the link in the comments section/message me.
